Sadly I have just received news that this is not going ahead (although I will be keeping fingers crossed that someone, somewhere will have a change of heart!) but hopefully it will be back next year, bigger and better than ever!

The World’s Biggest Puppy Party was hosted at Brighton Racecourse last Saturday and had a fantastic turnout!
There were many stalls, selling doggy goods, as well as rescues and companies like Canine Partners who were available to talk to people about what their assistance dogs do.
There were also some beautiful Golden Retrievers who work as PAT (Pets As Therapy) dogs – and they all seemed to be having a whale of a time!
There was even a pet photographer  – or petographer as he called himself – who was taking professional shots …

Puppy farms are cruel and archaic. Yet many people don’t realise they even exist.
Many puppies are bought from places where there are kennels filled with dogs living in appalling conditions, and sleeping in their own excrement.
Breeding studs and bitches suffer from diseases and aren’t treated. Puppies are often born very poorly and die soon after going home to their new family. You can see from the above image what happens to the animals that don’t find homes.
Something needs to be done.

Paws In The Park is an absolutely fantastic event and they have announced their 2009 shows!
These will take place at:
Broadlands, Hampshire 20-21 June 2009
Hop Farm, Kent 12-13 September 2009
There is a mega amount of activity going on such as Sheepdog displays, heelwork to music, gun dogs, agility and loads of trade stands!
Not only is it a brilliant day out for us two-legged creatures but your dogs will have a very stimulating, enjoyable and energetic day too.
You and your dog can have a go at agility, flyball, companion shows as well …

Unfortunately due to lack of sponsorship there will be no Cold Wet Nose Show this year.
Such as shame as it’s a brilliant event which enables doggy lovers to meet an enjoy seeing a huge variety of canines.

Hopefully they will be back in 2010 bigger and better than ever – in the meantime if anyone fancies sponsoring the show, please get in touch with them and save us from having dry noses this year!!
