Summer is finally here - glorious, hot weather that involves us two-legged fleshies walking about and trying to get a tan (unless you’re like me who sits in the shade as I merely go red!).
However, now is also the time that we need to be careful with our canine friends.
Don’t forget that a dogs coat can be quite thick - especially the long haired breeds - and so, we need to take precautions to stop them overheating.

Puppy farms are cruel and archaic. Yet many people don’t realise they even exist.
Many puppies are bought from places where there are kennels filled with dogs living in appalling conditions, and sleeping in their own excrement.
Breeding studs and bitches suffer from diseases and aren’t treated. Puppies are often born very poorly and die soon after going home to their new family. You can see from the above image what happens to the animals that don’t find homes.

A week old Cocker Spaniel puppy was flushed down a toilet after a 4 year old decided to give him a bath.
Daniel Blair decided the pup was muddy after a walk and needed to be cleaned.
Mrs Blair says she noticed the puppy had gone missing and asked her children where it was.

There is a news report today on a heroic canine that helped find people in the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy. He has been cloned 5 times to produce beautiful puppies that are hoped to follow his legacy.

If you have a puppy - especially if you are a first time dog owner - it can be mighty worrying when you see that what they clear out of their bowels isn’t exactly as it should be.
There can be multiple reasons for upset stomachs, down to simply overeeding them - their tiny little tums can’t take too much so make sure you are feeding correct amounts and if you’re not sure - ask your vet!
