I’ve been a bit lax with updates recently due to being a bit inundated with other things but I wanted to write a quick post about observational learning in canines.
Observational learning is exactly that - they see an action performed (ie mother grooming pup) and learn to copy that action.

Now that summer is finally here - despite the recent rain we’ve been having - the time has come to relax, chill and go on fun doggy walks!
There are beautiful places all over the UK that are great for walking dogs - a favourite of mine being Chanctonbury Ring, near Washington.
Not only is it good exercise for the dogs, it’s also good exercise for you as you can burn off those extra pounds gained over Christmas!

When will people learn?
Following my previous post, I was very sad to receive the following news this morning:
A Nottingham Police Dog Handler is responsible for the deaths of two German Shepherd police dogs which were left in a hot car, parked outside the police headquarters.
The RSPCA and Independent Police Complaints Commission have been called in to investigate although at present the handler has not been suspended.
Nottinghamshire Police have issued a statement highlighting that the welfare of their animals is “of paramount importance”.
