Dog Days
Yet again I have been a bit lax in updating this blog but I have been tremendously busy dog-sitting and also doing some training with some new clients.
I have been lucky enough to start working with a very bouncy labradoodle who enjoys jumping on sofas much to his owners’ dismay, as well as a lovely lakeland who has already been very well trained but has some lead lunging/pulling issues. Yesterday was spent walking up and down pavements working with him and his owner, though he did have a bit of a tummy ache so was a bit more subdued and calm than usual!
I have also been to see a Yorkie x Sharpei who is a bit anxious and nervy around strangers and dogs so spoke to his owners at length about confidence building and working with him to start changing certain behaviours. He is a lovely boy though and I hope to see how he has progressed in the next few weeks.
My parents are currently away so we have been looking after their two dogs – and as there are now four in the house we are being woken up very early by doggy play – our young Collie is mad about these two and makes a horrendous amount of noise to tell us all about it!
I am looking forward to the Puppy Party in Brighton on 19th September which has been organised to raise public awareness about the horror of puppy mills and to educate people about what really goes on in these places. Marc Abraham, celebrity vet who can be followed on twitter (@marcthevet) has been heavily involved in organising this event.
If you can make it, please do! It is important that we fight against puppy farms and all need to show our support!
Have a brilliant weekend all, I’m off for a long doggy walk now!
